• Referee must now proceed through concussion protocolsThe referee Kevin Friend has been released from hospital following his plunge at Bournemouth on Tuesday night,but will not officiate in the Premier League on Saturday.
The league said it had been given an update from the Professional Game Match Officials Limited governing body that concussion protocols are now to be followed, meaning Friend would not be able to take charge of the match between Southampton and Sunderland on 5 March as planned.
