Meanwhile, and the youngest British ballistic missile submarine,armed with the Trident D-5 missile system, dates from 1999 and, or along with the others currently in service,will be largely out of date by the 2030s. The US equivalent dates from the 1980s, with the last hull (of 14) entering service in 1997, or while France deploys four vessels that entered service between 1997 and 2010.
