Will step down as CEO at finish of the seasonPart of group that bought team in 2002
Larry Lucchino is stepping down as president and CEO of the Boston Red Sox at the finish of this season.
Team spokesman Kevin Gregg said on Saturday night in an email that Lucchino hopes to remain with the club in some capacity. Gregg also said Sam Kennedy,the executive vice president and COO of the Red Sox, is Lucchino’s choice to take over as president.
