Larry Lucchino is stepping down as president and CEO of the Boston Red Sox at the end of this season.
Team spokesman Kevin Gregg said on Saturday night in an email that Lucchino hopes to remain with the club in some capacity. Gregg also said Sam Kennedy,the executive vice president and COO of the Red Sox, is Lucchino’s choice to engage over as president.
