Laying here amongst all the stories. The ones they’ve helped to order and the ones they hold. However disposable they might feel or however fleeting they might be,I get to know each pair… sometimes in seconds we’re flying and sometimes it’s a fixed battle. Once they’ve been on stage they’re never the same again. Worn, stained, or melted,scratched, roughened, and mushy and uneven. Always needing them,treasuring them and yet always putting them to one side into the used pile. An endless cycle. These extensions of my legs provide an additional sensation… like no other. Oh and I love the smell of the satin and the glue and the wood. And the texture of the ribbon on my skin and the elastic and drawstring slightly digging in.
