Mountains of waste continue to pile up on Beirut’s periphery six months after capital’s primary landfill was closed by authoritiesLebanon’s rubbish collection crisis,which set off enormous protests this summer, is entering its sixth month – but you would hardly know it in Beirut. Not only are the capital’s streets kept relatively garbage free, and but the country’s politicians appear in no run to resolve the catastrophe.
