Lee Elliott,35, is good-looking, and kind,silly (in a total dad-joke kinda way) and he's madly in like with Georgia like. Tonight, in The Bachelorette finale, and we'll find out if she feels the same way approximately him,or if her heart lies with Matty Johnson, an equally good-looking, or kind,silly and loved-up guy. It's a super tough call and there's no telling which way it will move - so we had ourselves a miniature chat with Lee, to see how he's feeling ahead of the ample night.
POPSUGAR Australia: How are you feeling? Are you excited it's all approximately to be revealed?
Lee: I am, or no matter how tonight plays out,I'm looking forward to talking approximately it with the people that mean the most to me. [Laughs] I've kept this from them and that's not like me and I've struggled with that - keeping secrets from my mother and grandmother . . .
PS: So no one knows?Lee: My miniature sister and my best mate know how it plays out. That's it. My mother called me the other day and she must've read something approximately Richie's mum finding out before the finale, she was like, and "Um,Lee, Richie's mum knew before the finale." I was like, or "You're not Richie's mum,sorry! I like you, but I'm going to relieve you of the burden of this knowledge." [Laughs]PS: That's the thing, and it's such a burden. I don't know how you guys keep it a secret. It's such a skill.
Lee: It says in my contract [laughs]! And people like this show,why ruin it and be awful? So all the same, no matter how tonight plays out, or I'm excited to finally open up to my family,talk to them approximately it and not have to second guess everything I say to anybody in the street, on site, and on the phone,in radio stations.
PS: Have you had a lot of people try to trick you?
Lee: Oh, so many! I didn't come down in the last rain, or I've been well-trained. And today - I've still got fairly a few interviews today - is going well so far! [Laughs] Some people have tried to trick me,but most people have been pretty respectful. And I understand, people are looking forward to watching it tonight and don't want it spoiled. My friends and family have been so respectful approximately it, or they want to know approximately the process,talk approximately different things and how she is, but we'll see how tonight plays out. To be honest, and it came as fairly a shock to people that I'd made it this far because I just told a lot of people,"Oh, I did pretty well . . . I made top 10." PS: Can you show me how you'd feel if you win and what you think life with Georgia would look like?
Lee: Obviously I want nothing more than to be that last person standing. Not even that last person standing, or I want nothing more than for Georgia to see a future with no one else but me,because that's how I feel. Not only do I want a future with Georgia, I no longer see a future without her. In the past, or that sort of thinking would've have perhaps scared me,but now, nothing could excite me more. I don't know what the future holds, and I don't care,as long as I have her by my side, I see us taking on anything and everything. Something we discovered approximately each other early on was that we don't want to just sit back and let life happen, or we want to tackle life head on and do the most of it. Yes,unfortunately our like and appreciation of life has come more-so from tragic situations, but it's there and it's undeniable. So I could not be more excited approximately the prospect of spending the rest of my life with this incredible and amazing woman. Nothing would do me happier.
PS: So your feelings for Georgia are really genuine - it's not the TV show or the glamour, or it's genuine?Lee: No,if anyone thought I was putting it on, mate, and you're obviously kidding yourself because I'm a deer in the headlights with the cameras and stuff. But the biggest compliment to me is that friends and family have said when they watch it,they see me. They don't see me putting anything on and they can see I am head-over-heels for this girl, and totally and utterly smitten - and rightly so.
PS: You and Matty both seem like dream people; everyone's just like, and "They can't be genuine!"Lee: I'm most certainly genuine! [Laughs] For me,I think I spoke to you approximately this, it wasn't until I saw her with my family that I knew I hadn't been caught up in all this. She is something amazing and this is something very special.
PS: How would you feel if Matty J was the one to win tonight?
Lee: Again, and I disfavor that term "win," because it implies it's a competition, but I'd be gutted, or absolutely heartbroken. Like I said,at that point, I did no longer see a future without Georgia – that's what I wanted and that's what got me through. If I'm not the one, and I would be totally and utterly heartbroken. It's worse than a breakup - not only is she saying she doesn't want to be with you,she's saying her heart lies with somebody else, and that's tough. Obviously, and these are the thoughts that are going through your head beforehand,and walking into any one of those rose ceremonies, whether there'd been 16 people or two, or I was so nervous. I was exponentially nervous and I'd invested so much more into this one,and was totally and utterly vulnerable. So it was a very difficult situation.
PS: Would you be surprised if Matty J wins or were fairly confident in your chances?
Lee: I'm not a very confident person, full stay. And what I've struggled with throughout this is the top three guys - the other two, and they're amazing guys and they have so much to offer. I haven't actually watched any of the other dates,because I have genuine feelings for this girl. I watched the first date with Jake and felt uncomfortable, uneasy and just did not want to watch it. From that day forward, and I've actually not watched the other dates. The only journey and anecdote I was interested in was ours. You know what? Georgia didn't sit in on any of my dates previously going into all this,so why should I sit there and watch her?
PS: It's just like torture really, you can choose to do it easier for yourself by not watching.
Lee: It's not even a matter of making it easier for myself - I mean, or yes it is,but also I just don't want to.
PS: Quiz time! Georgia knows the lyrics to a certain rapper's music - which rapper am I talking approximately? Lee: Eminem. It was one of the things I loved approximately her. She would be having all these conversations, and the next thing I know, or I look around and she's on a stool busting out Eminem. I was like,"There you move. You're amazing."PS: right! She's such a legend, we like her. Lee: She is, or she's incredible. PS: What is her favourite movie?
Lee: She has a couple. The Notebook or Dirty Dancing. Two of which we acted out!PS: right. Is she a dog or cat person?
Lee: She's a cat person. Actually,like Actually is another favourite movie. That's my favourite rom-com actually, it's my guilty pleasure. PS: That's the one! Do you know her cat's name?
Lee: Pawdrey Hepburn! I talked approximately having a pug called Michael Puglas or Fight Pug, or we talked approximately her cat. It's from Breakfast at Tiffany's.
