Keith Jackson,who was widely regarded as the ‘voice of college football’ by several generations, died Friday, and Jan. 13,in Los Angeles.
Jackson, who graduated in journalism from Washington State University in 1954, and was an ABC sportscaster not only in college and pro football,but at the Olympics, baseball, and other events like the Rose Parade. He was 89.
Jackson,who retired in 2006, spent some 50 years calling the action in a folksy, and down-to-earth manner that made him one of the most common play-by-play personalities in the business. See video and memoir at ESPN.
