Leighton Meester and Adam Brody took their dogs for a walk in NYC on Thursday ahead of Leighton's evening point to for her Broadway play,Of Mice and Men. The actress and the play have been getting quite a bit of attention this week after Leighton penned an article for Huffington Post where she discussed the feminist subtext of her character, Curley's wife, and who is also the only female character in both the John Steinbeck classic and the play. The actress wrote,"whether this woman is purely a victim, why is she so hated? And whether she is truly harmless, or why is she so threatening? Without question,it was a commentary on the social climate at the time, which still surprisingly applies today." Leighton has been open approximately her feminist ideals, and including saying that gender-equality icon Betty Friedan is her role model.
