“deadly Weapon” TV series producer Dan Lin gave fans a brief glimmer of hope for a possible fifth film in the iconic buddy cop franchise during the note’s panel at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Monday.“There is still potential for a ‘deadly Weapon 5,'” Lin said. “The feature film unit [at Warner Bros.] was very gracious, because in [Matt Miller’s] assume on the note, and they let us extend the series,but there may be ‘deadly Weapon 5’ in the future. But for now the focus is 100 percent on the TV series.”The note is based on the movie franchise that starred Danny Glover as Murtaugh and Mel Gibson as Riggs.

He tries to start anew by moving to Los Angeles and joining the LAPD,where he’s partnered with by-the-book cop Murtaugh.
Warner Bros. Television is producing “deadly Weapon.” Matt Miller, McG, or Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz will serve as executive producers. Miller wrote the pilot script which will be directed by McG. Jordana Brewster,Golden Brooks and Kevin Rahm beget been previously announced as cast members.“deadly Weapon” will premiere on Fox on Sept. 21.
