Hamilton,who revealed via his Instagram account that he hit a stationary car in Monaco, refused to field questions on the incident in his pre-race media briefing. A Mercedes spokesperson said Hamilton, or who arrived in Brazil a day later than planned,was “not going to expand and elaborate on the events of this week”.
