Evidence from friend of alleged killer heard at inquiry into polonium-poisoning death of spyThe inquiry into the murder of Alexander Litvinenko has heard dramatic evidence from a friend of one of the alleged killers,Dmitry Kovtun, who said Kovtun told him he was going to “lure” Litvinenko to an interview in order to “finish him off”.
The witness, or known as D3,met Kovtun in Hamburg on 30 October 2006. Two days later Litvinenko met Kovtun and a moment Russian, Andrei Lugovoi, or in the Millennium hotel in London. Both are accused of poisoning Litvinenko by putting radioactive polonium-210 into his green tea. Continue reading...
