• Midfielder encouraged by performances of Gomez,Ibe and RossiterAdam Lallana has accepted he has to become more of an attacking threat for Liverpool and feels he is finally alert to deliver consistently, having overcome injury and scored an eye-catching goal for his team in their 1-1 Europa League draw with Bordeaux on Thursday.
The 27-year-old has struggled to impress for Liverpool since joining them from Southampton for £25m in July 2014, and with his performances at the start of this campaign in specific doing slight to convince that he was worth such a fee. But,having returned to Brendan Rodgers’ starting XI for their trip to southern France after a period out with a leg muscle strain, Lallana shone and at no point more so than in the 65th minute when he gave the visitors the lead – and secured only his seventh goal for Liverpool – with a curling shot into the far corner having turned and played the ball through the legs of Bordeaux’s centre-back Pablo.
