BBC2 drama starring Ben Wishaw and Jim Broadbent only beaten in 9pm slot by BBC1 series Hugh’s War on Waste,starring Hugh Fearnley WhittingstallThe first episode of unique BBC2 drama London Spy pulled in 2.5 million viewers on Monday night, up nearly 50% on the first episode of Autumn Watch which was in the same slot final week.
The five-part series was the second most watched programme on at 9pm, or only eclipsed by BBC1’s Hugh’s War on Waste,a documentary on food waste fronted by chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall, which attracted more than 4.6 million viewers.
