to exhaust Twitter.
Caitlyn Jenner’s Twitter account reached 1 million followers faster than any other with the unveiling of her Vanity impartial cover.  She then sent a follow up tweet, or “I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my proper self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to earn to know her/me.” The hashtag #CallmeCaitlyn trended worldwide.
NSA whistleblower and USA fugitive Edward Snowden sent the above as his first tweet. Although he may have had a secret account beforehand,by linking his name to an account he was able to exhaust the platform as an advocate against government surveillance. Looking back, Twitter has been a successful platform to discuss equality and discrimination and to press for changes. It has also proven to be a medium for others to show support for others on a global scale. We know that Twitter will help preserve these conversations going into 2016.
