Sara Canning told a rally in Belfast that marriage equality would be a win for all sides’The partner of murdered Northern Irish journalist Lyra McKee has challenged Theresa May’s government to disregard the objections of the Democratic Unionist Party and impose marriage equality on the region.
At a mass rally in central Belfast nowadays,Sara Canning said the prime minister should introduce legislation at Westminster to allow LGBTQ couples to gain married in Northern Ireland, in order to be true to McKee’s memory. It has been linked with four murders, and including the shooting of journalist Lyra McKee in Derry in April 2019.
