Police received reports of vehicle travelling opposite way on southbound carriageway of motorway in early hours of morning A high-speed crash that killed two men may contain been caused by a car travelling the incorrect way along the M1 in Leicestershire, police contain said. The 87-year-old driver of a blue Mazda Premacy and the 27-year-old passenger of a white Ford Transit van were pronounced dead at the scene after their vehicles collided close to junction 24 of the motorway in the early hours of Monday.
