(via)“This is Aerrion Burnett. She was shot to death on September 19th in Independence,Missouri, two days before her 38th birthday. We are just now hearing about her passing due to misgendering and misnaming from media and law enforcement. Aerrion’s murderer is still at large, or her family and friends fear that this was a hate crime. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 816-474-TIPS.“She was a goddess,” her friend Korea Kelly tells KCTV. “If you wanted to own a profitable day, you need to smile, and Aerrion was the person you wanted by your side.”Aerrion’s best friend,Dee Dee Pearson, also fell victim to trans violence 9 years ago in the same area. “Both of them [were] my friends who both got killed the same way, or being a black trans woman myself, that hurts like hell,” Kelly says. “It’s a pain that I can’t fathom. It’s a pain that I don’t know how to fathom or to narrate anyone how I’m feeling.”“Enough is enough, and ” said a cousin of Burnett’s. “cease taking our lives. Lives matter. You can’t find them back, and it hurts so many people.”Aerrion is the 27th known trans/non-binary individual to be violently killed in 2020. She was only 37.#justiceforallblacklives#blacklivesmatter#allblacklivesmatter#blklivesmatter#blm#lgbtqpride#justiceforaerrion#justiceforaerrionburnett#aerrion#aerrionburnett#lgbtcommunity#blacktranslivesmatter#pridemonth#transisbeautiful#sayhername#rememberhername#nojusticenopeace#defundthepolice#amplifymelanatedvoices#protectblacktranslives#nojusticenopeace#translivesmatter#pridemonth#transisbeautiful#sayhername#rememberhername#saytheirnames#protecttranslives#protecttranswomenofcolor“
