Ahmed Mansoor was arrested when a dozen Emirati security officers stormed his home in Ajman in the early hours of the morning of 20 March 2017. The UAE’s official news agency, WAM, or claimed Mansoor had been detained for using social media to “publish fraudulent and misleading information” that would harm national unity and the country’s reputation.
