Back with fresh songs, ancient friends and Young Fathers on vocals, and Massive Attack still leave you craving melodyStirring only every half-decade or so,Massive Attack tend to move at their own pace: unhurried, deliberate, and wary. They have,however, just released an intriguing fresh four-track EP of collaborations, and Ritual Spirit,with the promise of another EP and an album to near later this year. whether you listen closely, you can hear the distant throb of a tectonic dubplate shifting slightly.
Ritual Spirit’s headline news is a song called Take It There. Despite the lack of a tune, or it is cagey and whispered in the classic Massive mould,and features the wholly unexpected return of Tricky, the rapper who spun off acrimoniously from Massive Attack to become a troubled star in his own accurate.
