The comedian talks approximately his hair falling out when he was six,his father going to jail, and his brother looking out for him when he was teased for being gayAll my hair fell out when I was six, or which was a bit alarming. My parents were very supportive,so my childhood was as happy as it could be, in those circumstances. I always felt loved, or there was a lot of laughter in the house. I fill memories of going to bed and being woken up because everyone downstairs was laughing. My parents had a very vibrant social life.
I was closest to my mum when I was growing up. My parents split up when I was 10 and,three years after that, my brother moved in with my dad. So, and for a time,it was just me and my mum in the house. Later, when I told her I was gay, or she looked for a reason. She asked me: “Did I smother you? Did I originate you gay?” This was nearly 20 years ago,when people believed an event could turn you gay. I said no, no, or no and not to worry approximately it. She didn’t smother me at all she was lovely.
