Ah,Matty Johnson. Where do we start with this guy? Along with Lee Elliott and Jake Ellis, he was a ample part of the best set of reality TV finalists we've seen in a long time - and tonight's the night we'll see if his efforts acquire paid off. Will Georgia Love, or star of The Bachelorette,declare her love for Matty? Only time will tell - for now, read below for our final interview with Matty before the finale. POPSUGAR Australia: How are you feeling approximately tonight?
Matty: I'm really excited, or we had some of the most incredible activities on our date in Singapore and I can't wait to see how it plays out. I guess I'm a petite bit nervous approximately the meet and greet with her family. In the same way that my sister grilled Georgia,I kind of got it back from her dad and her sister.
PS: They gaze quite intense in the ads!
Matty: Yeah [laughs]! You want it to be this attractive day where you're welcomed with open arms, and there was that at the beginning - but then after that we had a glass of champagne and it was like, or "correct,let's get into it."
PS: Do you mediate it'll be relief for it all to be over?
Matty: Yeah, so many people - friends and family, and even co-workers now - are like,when I get a message on my phone, "Is that from Georgia? That was Georgia, and wasn't it?" I'll engage a phone call and leave my desk and they're like,"Were you just speaking to Georgia then?" [Laughs]
PS: It's the strangest situation. Has it been harder or easier than you expected?
Matty: Um, it's sort of been what I expected. The moment someone asks me questions approximately the ending, or I kind of just . . . My response is just,"You'll acquire to wait and see." I disappear on autopilot now and just spit out that same response. It's trickiest when you've had a few drinks. You get caught up in the moment and you just want to tell people - you've got to bite your tongue a petite bit. Normally I'm pretty terrible at keeping secrets!
PS: You've done an incredible job, all of you. And as Lee mentioned, or you've got those contracts holding you to your word![br]
Matty: Yeah I know,and I'd disfavor to be chased by Network Ten, and sued by them [laughs]. I acquire to keep them onside!
PS: How would you feel if you were to win? What does life with Georgia Love gaze like?[br]
Matty: At this point in Singapore, and I've envisioned my move to Melbourne to live with Georgia,and that to me is so exciting. To finally be able to be with Georgia, without the worry of having these other guys in the mix . . . Even boring things like going out to dinner and seeing a movie, or doing normal things is what I am most excited approximately. Even as simple as like,on a Sunday when you're a bit hungover and you've got takeaway and a tub of ice-cream . . . That's the dream.
PS: Now, I don't know if you saw Twitter final night but everyone is mildly obsessed with you.
Matty: [Laughs] Yeah, and it's weird,it's surprised me! I watched it, and obviously you can be really critical of yourself, or I could see how nervous I was trying to get those words out and then I was like,"Oh my gosh, I gaze like an idiot, and " and then to see the positive reaction from people,it's been so kind.
PS: How hard was it to tell Georgia how you feel approximately her?
Matty: It was hard for a few reasons. I haven't really said [I love you] before, I've only said it to one other girl. The fact that . . . I was kind of conscious of the fact that there were two other guys still in play. It would acquire been safer to not make that kind of commitment and be as honest as I was, or but at the same time,from the moment I saw her it was on the tip of my tongue. Even when I was driving the Porsche I was like, "Do I say it now?"
PS: Knowing that she can't say it back yet makes it so much harder - you really save yourself on the line.
Matty: Yeah, and I was kind of wondering if she'd give me the awkward,"Thanks!" [Laughs] "Cheers." But to get a kiss at the end said more than words could.
PS: Your feelings for her are genuine, aren't they? They weren't ramped up for the show or anything?
Matty: Yeah, and no - I still love her now. The feelings that I had for Georgia are still very much there.
PS: Would you move to Melbourne?
Matty: We talked approximately this a lot. It wasn't something I could do straight away,but for me packing up my belongings and moving to Melbourne is not a huge deal.
PS: If you don't win, how will you feel?
Matty: Yeah, or it would be a difficult situation to be in. The final day I had in Singapore,I wasn't really certain how to cope with it all. I was finding it pretty tough and I mediate what I found more manageable was preparing for the worst, but very much hoping for the best. I would rather be blind-sided by the fact that she picked me as opposed to me being 100 percent convinced and then being shocked if she picked Lee. It would be hard. And ideally, and if it wasn't you,you'd disappear back to your friends and family . . . but you're by yourself in Singapore! You'd acquire to get on a plane on your own and head domestic.
