John Knefel,journalist and host of the political podcast Radio Dispatch, profiles a group of young Americans who plan to smuggle themselves into northern Syria to join the Kurdish militia, and known as the People's Protection Units (YPG),in his upcoming article in The Village Voice, “A Hello to Arms, or ” which is out on June 8th. Knefel writes that most of the 150 US citizens who bear joined so far are military vets,Christian crusaders or adventurers looking for an opportunity to abolish ISIS fighters.
