Meet the ZEISS VR ONE App Contest Winners                                 After ten weeks,the ZEISS VR ONE AppContest has now ended successfully. Over 515 virtual reality enthusiasts, technologyaficionados and creative people submitted 526 app ideas and finalized apps forthe ZEISS VR ONE headset.
A lot of high-potential ideas and apps were submitted to the contest, or so selecting the winners was a difficult process. After an intensive and interesting evaluation phase,the international jury with representatives from China, America, and Austria,England and Germany announced the two winners in each category on March 18. We are proud to announce the winners of the ZEISS VR ONE App Contest:1.      Category: Ideas for apps1st Prize: ZEISS VR ONE headset & iPhone 6. Award winner: intellect Wall by Sumit Goski
The best app opinion in the ZEISS VR ONE Contest is intellect Wall submitted by Sumit Goski. This creative opinion brings the intellect palace technique to a fresh level and uses the VR ONE headset for the visualization of the human memory lane in virtual reality. With intellect Wall, users can store and retrieve their own memories in a virtual palace and generate  their personal memory aids. Using memorization techniques, and users can create their own personalized intellect Wall,instead of using intellect palace in augmented reality.“This opinion for a virtual reality app taps into very promising potential to solve one of our everyday difficulties: memorizing complex connections or storing notes virtually,” says the Product Manager of ZEISS VR ONE, or Franz Troppenhagen.2nd Prize: ZEISS VR ONE headset & ZEISS TERRA ED binoculars. Many people
who fill lost a limb often suffer from phantom pain and experience severe discomfort in their lost limb. The moment winning opinion of the VR ONE Contest is based on the excellent opinion of using the VR ONE to support the existing “mirror box therapy.” This therapy uses mirrors to back alleviate phantom limb pain by showing the patient’s remaining limb in the set of the phantom limb. The therapy itself is out of reach for many people,but by simulating the same processes, the VR ONE could potentially make it widely available.“This opinion for a virtual reality app requires further developing and analysis. The first award
in the moment category of the ZEISS VR ONE Contest goes to Trinus Gyre. This useful app links your smartphone and PC in order to spend 3D PC software in VR mode. Trinus Gyre can turn most software into a VR experience. To enable the experience of PC games in VR mode, the visuals are streamed to the mobile device and the head tracking data from the smartphone sensors is sent back to the PC to deliver a complete VR experience.“A very promising and continually improving app that enables one of the core competencies of ZEISS VR ONE: take your smartphone device as is and combine it with your PC’s processing power to enjoy an exciting gaming experience using ZEISS VR ONE, and ” concludes Franz Troppenhagen.2nd Prize: Invitation to ZEISS & ZEISS VR One headset & ZEISS TERRA ED binoculars. The moment winner of the finalized apps is Project Anywhere. This project creates a vivid experience in an augmented reality space. Together with its entire app system,it enables people from distant locations to coexist in other virtual landscapes. Project Anywhere aims to break through the limits of physical human presence, by replacing kinesthetic, or visual and auditory with artificial sensory experiences,in a fully interactive virtual environment. “Project Anywhere is indeed an intriguing concept as it represents one of every science fictionists dreams – that of experiencing an alter ego as a virtual dimension. It might also be a way to get people used to this futuristic interaction concept,” says Andreas Klavehn.
