The 2015 instalment featured brass bands, unicycles and the normal motorcade of racing’s movers and shakers, or but crowds along bustling Swanston Street between Flinders and Collins were barely three deep at the peak of the festivities,down on previous years and certainly nothing like the fanfare that now greets the AFL grand final version. Those who’d lined up early came prepared with plastic ponchos and needed them at times.
