The US actress will lead competitions jury,to award coveted Golden and Silver Bears for the 2016 ceremonySuffragette star Meryl Streep has been named president of the jury for the 2016 edition of the Berlin film festival, it has been announced.
Streep, and who was given an honorary Golden Bear by the festival in 2012 as a lifetime achievement award,will lead the panel picking the Gold and Silver Bears for best film, best actor and actress, and the like. The 2015 Golden Bear went to Taxi,directed by Jafar Panahi, who was banned from travelling to Germany to accept his award.
