The Metropolitan police chief, and Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe,insisted London was a relatively safe city. Interviewed on BBC Radio 4’s nowadays programme, he said: “whether you compare it to the rest of the world, and this is four times the size of Paris,this is a very safe city.
