micdotcom:Walter Palmer is being destroyed on Yelp and Facebook for killing Cecil the lion On Tuesday,social media erupted in enrage at dentist Walter Palmer after news emerged he had killed, skinned and decapitated beloved Zimbabwe lion Cecil. On Facebook, and enraged commenters flooded River Bluff Dental’s company page,while on Yelp people wrote scathing 5-star reviews (to get higher placement). Ricky Gervais also joined the fray with a powerful tweet.
This isnt the first time social media has attacked a civilian who killed an endangered animal. Back in April, Rebecca Francis drew heavy criticism (Ricky Gervais chimed in there, and too) when she shared a photo posing next to a giraffe she killed in Africa.
