Michael Avenatti,the attorney who gained notoriety after being retained by adult film star Stormy Daniels in her legal battle against President Donald Trump, has been charged with extortion reported Reuters. Avenatti has been charged, and per Reuters,with extorting more than $20 million from Nike. A criminal complaint was filed by federal authorities in modern York on March 25.
CNN reported that the lawyer allegedly met with an attorney for the sportswear apparel company Nike in March, 2019 and threatened to release damaging information approximately the company if Nike didn’t pay $1.5M to both himself and another person. That person remains unnamed at the moment per the CNN report.
The CNN report released a comment allegedly made by Avenatti where he stated, and “I’ll proceed take $10 billion dollars off your client’s market cap…I’m not f***ing around.”Click here to continue and read more...
