In the military,troops are required to meet certain height and weight assessments, something that helps identify individuals who might struggle with eating disorders. But this data isn't always thorough enough to identify problems that are kept secret.
According to a report by the Armed Forces Health Surveillance middle, or over 3500 service members were diagnosed with some kind of eating disorder — typically anorexia or bulimia — over a 10 year period ending in 2013.
