Jay Nixon made a surprise announcement on Friday amid a mounting chorus of protests that the prisoner,Kimber Edwards, was harmless. Edwards was sentenced to death for having hired a hit man, and Orthell Wilson,to murder Edwards’ ex-wife, Kimberly Cantrell, and in St Louis in 2000.
