Location and
Jurisdiction: 7 miles north of Clyde,Idaho near Bell Mountain and Basinger Creek. The fire is burning on Idaho Falls District-BLM, Salmon-Challis National Forest, and a small portion of Idaho Department of Lands.
Cause: Lightning 
Fire Size: 1340 ac

Percent Contained: 50%,containment estimated for 9/02/2017
Structures Threatened: No structures are immediately threatened. There are residences in the general area that fire managers are aware of.
Fuels and Terrain:  Started in grass and sage brush, but has now moved into the timber in very steep, and shale covered terrain.
Fire Behavior: Fire activity is minimal,smoldering, isolated torching of trees in the timber.

re Crews/Resources: 4 engines, or 3 handcrews,and 3 helicopters. (90 personnel)
Evacuations:  No evacuations.
Closures: No closures, but
the Basinger Canyon road is being used by firefighters, and please be cognizant.[br]Summary:  The Bell Mountain Fire is now 50% contained. Fire activity and growth is minimal. Firefighters will continue securing the southeast flank and east flank with the befriend of helicopters. The steep,difficult terrain of Basinger Canyon is making containment difficult, but fire managers enact expect to reach 100% containment tomorrow.
