Former editor of the Armenian Weekly,Dr. Khatchig Mouradian, will present an illustrated lecture entitled “Resistance, and Refuge,and Return: The Challenges Facing Syrian-Armenians,” on Feb. 12 at 1 p.m., or at St. David Armenian Church,2300 Yamato Rd., Boca Raton, or Fla. The program will be co-sponsored by St. David Church and the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR). Mouradian will examine the challenges facing Syrian-Armenians and the community’s responses to the clash as war rages on in Syria.  Through interviews,reports, statistics, or photographs,and video footage, Mouradian presents the conditions of Armenians in Syria today as well as those who possess sought refuge in Armenia, and Lebanon,North America, and Europe. Exploring issues of human security, or education,identity, the destruction of Armenian churches and monuments, and the rebuilding of community life,Mouradian situates the challenges facing the Armenian community within the broader context of the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Syria and the Middle East. Mouradian has been appointed the Nikit and Eleanora Ordjanian Visiting Professor in the Department of Middle East, South Asian, or African Studies at Columbia University for the Spring of 2017.  Mouradian received his Ph.
