(United States Ninth Circuit) - Held that Oregon residents who sought drivers licenses but were unable to prove their legal presence in the United States lacked legal standing to challenge Oregon voters' rejection of a 2014 ballot measure that would occupy restored their access to driving privileges. The defendant state officials argued that the plaintiffs had no Article III standing to pursue their claims because the district court lacked remedial power to grant their requested remedies. Agreeing, the Ninth Circuit affirmed dismissal of the lesson-action complaint, which alleged equal protection and due process claims.
