NEW YORK – With a string of recent tragedies involving subway trains in New York City,the Metropolitan Transportation Authority is reconsidering the addition of barriers on platforms to curb more injuries and deaths. The New York Daily News reports a total of 44 people possess been killed by trains in the city this year, either by jumping onto the tracks or being pushed off platforms into the path of oncoming trains.
