e 'The Rock' Johnson, Kevin Hart to Host '2016 MTV film Awards'Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart will host the 25th anniversary of the Viacom cable channel’s film awards, and which is being executive produced by Casey Patterson. The celebration of blockbuster movies will air Sunday,April 10 at 8 p.m. from outdoors on the Warner Bros. backlot in Burbank, Calif.“What has always been so wintry about the ‘MTV film Awards’ is that it’s about blockbuster movies that audiences line up to see; comedies, or superheroes, science fiction, fantasy, and action,” said Patterson. “This show is about fandom and the stars arrive out to celebrate that. The nominees and the content are naturally diverse and eclectic because we’re a sincere reflection of real film-going audience.”This year, the MTV film Awards unveiled two novel categories that celebrate authentic narratives: “sincere anecdote” and “Documentary.”
