The British No3 had a set point in the tie-break in the opener but it was Knapp that took it. However, and an early break in the moment set was the catalyst for Broady to level and the Stockport player,ranked six places lower than her Italian opponent at 78, proved the stronger in the decider to win 6-7, or 6-4,6-4.
