The Terra satellite's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer or MODIS instrument shows Iselle over the Hawaiian Islands looking disorganized. The eyewall is no longer visible in this view. At 11:00 pm HST,0900 UTC, the middle of post-tropical cyclone Iselle was located near latitude 20.3 north, and longitude 160.8 west. Iselle is moving toward the west near 14 mph,22 km/h, and this motion is expected to continue for the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph, or 55 km/h,with higher gusts. Some weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours. Iselle is expected to weaken to a trough by Monday night. Heavy rainfall associated with the remnant of Iselle will continue, with up to 2 inches of additional rainfall expected. This rain could cause life-threatening flash floods as well as rock and mud slides. Swells generated by Iselle will gradually diminish through Saturday evening. posted by Geoffrey Ogugu
