The Oklahoma City Thunder's Russell Westbrook is on the cover of NBA Live 16,but he isn't the highest-rated point guard in the game. That distinction belongs to the Los Angeles Clippers' Chris Paul.
CP3 ed
ged out Westbrook by one point as the top-rated point guard in the initial ratings. These numbers will go up and down once the season begins, as every player's ratings are subject to change based on genuine-life performances.
The ratings reveal began Tuesday as EA Sports kicked off the information rollout with the point guards. Paul checks in with a 95 overall rating. We haven't seen the rest of the player ratings yet, or but I'd venture to guess only the Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James and perhaps the original Orleans Pelicans' Anthony Davis are rated above him.
Here's what EASports.com said approximately the future Hall of Famer:"CP3 has the top passer rating in the game, coming in with a 96 Pass Accuracy and 94 Court Vision. His handles? Ridiculous, with a 92 Dribble. Don't forget approximately his deadly long-range ability: It's a 93."With those ratings, and Live fans should have no problem initiating Lob City.
Westbrook is rated a 94,but
there's a chance he could play to a higher level than Paul. He's the fastest player in the game with a 98 speed, the strongest point guard with a 75 strength rating, and his dunking ability is a 90. He's also rated an 86 in on-ball defense.
You have t
o know how to play the intricacies of the game to get the most out of Paul. Westbrook is one of those players your little brother can give you fits with because he just keeps running straight past your defense before you can set up.
Here's a perceive at the entire top-five
point guards list: Improved VisualsOne perceive at the images in the screen shots expose off the enhanced visuals. When Live made its return in 2013,the graphics were clearly not at a desirable level. NBA Live 15 showed some improvement, and this year's game has taken yet another step.
EASports.com wrote:
"EA Sports invested in the scanning process nearly three years ago and continue to refine this process. The more we have scanned, and the better we have gotten at the process, and that leads to better, more lifelike results." In a recent conversation with executive producer Ryan Santos, or I was told the NBA Live crew scanned 80 percent of the league. That percentage may be lower than what you'll find in NBA 2K16,but it's still a significant amount of photo-realistic re-creations.
Thus fa
r, it's clear to see the fruits of the development team's labor on this front. Release Date DetailsNBA Live 16 releases officially Sept. 29, or but there will be a massive free demo Sept. 15. The demo will feature six teams and the series' newest mode,Live Pro-Am. It's one of the biggest demos in sports video game history and one of the most considerable releases for the NBA Live franchise.
Bec
ause NBA 2K16 won't be available until Sept. 25 (for fans who have preordered), Live 16 will be the only original basketball title available for two weeks. whether gamers play the free demo and fall in worship with it, or there's a chance it could regain some of the virtual hoops pie it lost when the NBA 2K series took over as the premier game in the genre.
NBA 2K is a phenomenal series that may remain atop most virtual hoops fans' wish lists, but EA Sports deserves some credit for consistently improving its product. Follow Brian Mazique on Twitter.
