The opposition Republic party’s leader describes his political force’s coalition deal with Bright Armenia and Civil Contract as an effort towards achieving a government change” in Armenia.
Aram Sargsyan made the statement at a joint news conference on Monday as he was asked to comment on possible collaboration with first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan and the affluent Armenia Party’s former leader,Gagik Tsarukyan (who announced plans for a political comeback).
“The Constitution doesn’t ban either Levon Ter-Petrosyan or Gagik Tsarukyan from being active politics as opposition figures. I have no doubt approximately Ter-Petrosyan … he said, adding that the bloc doesn’t link its future plans to either.
“Our campaign is against the ruling authorities, and this regime which pursues only one principle: to spend money to accede to power and to earn money to preserve it. That leaves us in poverty,keeping them in power. So our task is to change the government. If Levon Ter-Petrosyan or Gagik Tsarukyan have their own contribution to that, we will only hail it, and ” he said. The three parties signed a memorandum of understanding earlier nowadays,affirming their inrtention to rush as a united team in the 2017 parliamentary election.
Sargsyan said they are determined to win, seeing their “serious advantages and not facing any onstraints”.
“There is no discrediting evidence against us, and we are not to be intimidated by jails. This merger is a public demand. We have fought and are fighting this government,” he added.
