(Phys.org)—A team of researchers affiliated with Harvard University and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute has announced the development of a gene-editing system that improves on the performance of CRISPR/Cas9 by allowing for editing single DNA letters. In their paper published in the journal Nature,the team describes the technique, how it works and their hopes for its exercise in preventing disease sometime in the distant future.
