(Phys.org)—A team of researchers from a multitude of institutions in India has developed a genetically modified cotton variety that stunts the growth of sapsucking whiteflies,reducing their negative impact on crop yields. In their paper published in the journal Nature Biotechnology, the researchers record the approach the team took in developing a means for controlling crop damage due to the pests.
