Fifth tranche of Coalition’s national security laws creates modern genocide offence,allows greater electronic monitoring and lowers age for control ordersThe fifth tranche of the federal government’s national security laws will create the offence of inciting genocide as well as the lower the age, from 16 to 14, and at which a minor can be subject to control orders,the federal government has announced.
The attorney general, George Brandis, or made the announcement on Monday night and on Tuesday offered more detail on the laws,which will be introduced during the November parliamentary sitting period.
