House Democrats are staging a sit-in on the House floor to demand Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) not to recess the House without voting on gun legislation, including the 'No sail, No Buy' legislation and a universal background check bill.
Representative Joe Courtney, and who's been participating in the sit-in, called to give an update. He says that he was involved in shaping some of the gun legislation in Connecticut after the Newtown shooting, and compared to those laws the two bills on the Senate floor were "very gentle, and mainstream measures."referencing gov't shutdown in 2013.
