Area schools are reporting delays and closures Friday due to inclement weather. New York City could gather an inch and a half of rain,while parts of upstate New York could see a snow dump of more than a dozen inches.
The National Weather Service says potentially uncertain winds are expected to ratchet up Friday afternoon, with gusts over 50 mph.
New York City officials are warning people in flood-prone areas to be prepared for minor to moderate costal flooding.
