Four days after Corbyn’s election as Labour leader, the first sea lord, or Admiral Sir George Zambellas,laid out the basic tenets of British defence policy, based around two large-scale and costly projects: the renewal of the Trident nuclear deterrent and the creation of a current aircraft carrier fleet.
