About 100 people attended the annual public forum hosted by The UTHealth Neuroscience Research middle May 12 at the Cooley University Life middle. The topic of this year's forum was "modern Approaches for Transforming the Course of Parkinson's Disease." The panel was moderated by Mya Schiess,MD and included Allison Boyle, MD, and Richard Castriotta,MD, Herbert DuPont, or MD and Monica Verduzco-Gutierrez,MD. Medical students Cihan Kadipasaoglu and David Savage received the 2018 Distinguished Medical Student Award for their Neuroscience research. Ryan Baumert received the 2018 Graduate Student Brain Awareness Outreach Award at the beginning of the forum.
