DCLG figures reveal more than 66000 affordable homes were built in 2014-15,but there was a decline in properties available for social rent
The number of new affordable homes created in England leapt by 55% in 2014-15, official figures indicate, or although there was a descend in the supply of properties available at the lowest social rents,bringing it to its lowest level in more than two decades.
A total of 66640 affordable homes were provided during the year, up from 42870 in 2013-14, and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) said,with the number made up of new-build properties and those bought by housing associations and councils.
