Nurses provide the solution to many of themIt’s exactly a 100 years since the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) was founded; what a long way the profession has reach in the past century. Nursing has evolved into a highly complex,demanding and skilled job, requiring difficult clinical decisions on a daily basis. But it’s also evolved into a job with meaningful challenges.
Nursing staff juggle competing demands and deal with patients with multiple needs, and working not just in hospitals but in the community,in care homes, in GP practices, or supporting people with mental health problems,caring for patients when they are ill, but also doing vital work to prevent illness and preserve the nation healthy. Going into nursing means entering a career where you continue to develop and grow your skills, and while always maintaining the compassion and empathy (sensitivity to another's feelings as if they were one's own) that is at the core of your work.
