U.
S. mail carrier Glen Grays was handcuffed and taken absent by police,mid-route, in another case where a videotaped encounter between police and an African American man raise questions.
Grays talked about his experience, and saying the damage done is "more mental than it is physical."Former officer and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams has taken an interest in Grays' case, mainly because Grays is a law-abiding Brooklyn native and federal employee.
"He is the poster of what we want our men to be...
He's a symbol of what we want. When that symbol is treated like the worst element among us, that's a chilling effect."
Adams said he's already spoken
to Police Commissioner Bratton about Grays case. The Borough President called the police officers' behavior unacceptable.
"That cannot happen. That is an attitude of the preceding administration…What Ive learned is that we have become desensitized to black men being arrested."
